Hamamatsu International Piano Academy
In today’s blog-post, we would like to introduce you the “Hamamatsu International Piano Academy” – an institution aiming to nurture world-class professional pianists as well as offer local residents an opportunity to enjoy and learn to play the piano.
The academy organizes two main types of lessons. The first is the “Master Class Lesson” for young talents between the ages of 12 and 22, who aspire to become professional pianists. In this Master Class, students learn practical techniques and expressions used by concert pianists through hands-on sessions. The other lesson is the “One Point Lesson for Adults”, which any piano enthusiast can apply for.
The Hamamatsu International Piano Academy boasts three instructors, all three being world-famous pianists or professors from music colleges. They teach students in both the Master Class Lessons and the One Point Lessons for Adults. The Master Classes are open to the public so anyone can observe the teaching process, whereas the latter are operated as closed sessions.
Various piano-related events will be held during the academy term. At the opening concert, the instructors will perform, showing their world-class level performances. For those who wish to deepen their knowledge of music, there will also be lecture concerts on the roots of classical music, reading music and the background of sheet music, as well as many other interesting topics. The Academy will close with a showcase concert performed by students from both of the lesson types. Through the performances, we hope you will enjoy seeing how their skills have been refined through the sessions.
